While many beauty products and treatments pamper your skin on the surface, it is far more effective to treat the skin at its source. Skinboosters (which contain hyaluronic acid) aim to remedy the hydration of the skin from deep within.

Once numbed with a topical anaesthetic cream, skinboosters are injected into the skin’s dermis, where the molecules of hyaluronic acid absorbs up to 1000x its own weight in water. This helps to retain moisture in the dermis, restoring hydration levels and improving the structure, firmness and elasticity of the skin.

The result is a dewy luminosity which has been popularised by Korean celebs.

Skinboosters may be targeted to specific areas of concern, such as around the eyes for crows feet, or mouth for “smokers” and “smile” lines. They may also be performed as a “field treatment” to the entire face, hands or decolletage.

For optimum results, skinbooster injections should be carried out once a month for three months, and then at six monthly intervals to create and then maintain a reservoir of hydration and smooth complexion.

An initial course of 3 treatments, each approximately 4 weeks apart is recommended as part of the initial treatment plan. Follow up appointments after the initial treatment programme are usually recommended 6 months after in order to maintain the results.

What is it used for?
