Skin Tightening With Thermage Radio Frequency
Tired saggy faces, or crepey wrinkly eyelids and eyebags? The new Thermage CPT system tightens and smooths your face and eyes with no surgery, no injections, and no downtime, but with increased comfort.
What is Thermage?
Thermage is a premium non-invasive skin rejuvenation and tightening procedure. Using radiofrequency waves, Thermage penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate your body's natural renewal of collagen, resulting in skin tightening and contouring.
Thermage is FDA approved for the non-invasive treatment of facial wrinkles, and is also the only system which is FDA- approved for non-invasive treatment of the eyelids.
What can Thermage do for me?
The benefits of Thermage include tighter skin, improved skin texture and renewed facial contours. Skin on the face and neck is firmer and visibly tighter, the jowls and jaw line achieve better definition. The procedure also smoothes out wrinkles and refines the skin texture, strengthens and tightens delicate eyelid skin, leaving you with a more refreshed and youthful appearance.
Unlike other procedures, such as a surgical facelift or threadlift, Thermage requires no incisions or downtime from daily activities.
How does Thermage work?
During the procedure, your doctor at The Sloane Clinic delivers patented monopolar Radiofrequency (RF) energy to your skin using the ThermaCool device. Your doctor controls the amount of RF energy, balancing your comfort and optimal results. When the treatment tip touches the skin, it uniformly heats a large volume of collagen in deeper layers of the skin and its underlying tissue while at the same time cooling the outer layer and protecting it. This causes deep structures in the skin to immediately tighten. Over time, new collagen also forms. Your skin will tighten further, and result in healthy, smooth looking skin.
How does the new Thermage CPT differ from its predecessor?
The new Thermage allows for even greater and more homogenous 3D –skin tightening. With the new CPT system (Comfort Pulsed Technology), RF energy is released in short rapid pulses to provide complete deep heating of the tissues at a therapeutic level that you can easily tolerate. The in-built vibrating handpiece also ensures maximum comfort during the procedure.
How long do Thermage treatments take?
The Thermage procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on how large of an area needs to be treated. The procedure is quick and can even be done during a lunch hour. So you can go for your lunch break, have your Thermage procedure, and return to work looking younger! For this reason, this procedure has been referred to as the "lunch hour facelift".
What can I expect to feel during the procedure?
An advantage to the Thermage procedure is that it enhances one's appearance with a minimal amount of pain. Each time the treatment tip touches your skin, you will feel a brief cooling sensation, followed by a brief but deep heating sensation. The new CPT system and vibratory function further reduces the sensation of heat. Most patients who have undergone the procedure at The Sloane Clinic have described the procedure as being comfortable. If you are more sensitive to pain, an anaesthetic cream may be applied before the procedure.
What can I expect after Thermage treatment?
After undergoing Thermage treatments, your skin should feel tighter and smoother. Additional tightening will occur over time and your new look will gradually occur over a 3 to 6 month period, possibly sooner. These results vary from person to person.
The results of the Thermage procedure may last anywhere from two years to longer, this varies depending on your individual aging process. For the best results, your doctor at The Sloane Clinic will advise you on the appropriate interval between your Thermage treatments.
Who is suitable for Thermage?
Thermage is suitable for anyone desiring a non-invasive method to improve their sagging or aging skin. The procedure is suitable for all skin types, and for both men and women.
Your doctor at The Sloane Clinic will advise you further on whether Thermage is an appropriate choice for you after your consultation.
